Where we work

Concrete across Canberra and the surrounding region

Based in Canberra, working right across the ACT's districts — from the Inner South to Gungahlin, Molonglo and Tuggeranong — and over the border to Googong, Queanbeyan and the rural blocks beyond — and we already know what's under most of those streets.

After 19 years pouring around Canberra, we have a pretty good idea what's underneath most streets. It isn't one soil type: much of the city is reactive clay, the older hilly suburbs like Red Hill and Hackett hit rock not far down, Gungahlin and Molonglo estates were built on cut and fill, and mature trees in the inner north and south have been lifting driveways for decades. Throw in frosty winters and fierce summer sun, and your location decides the base depth, steel, joint layout and curing. That's why we price from a site visit, not a rate sheet. Find your suburb below to see what we usually run into there.

Outside these suburbs?

If your street is not on the list, ask anyway

This list is just where we're busiest. We work right across Canberra and often head out into Queanbeyan-Palerang and the Yass Valley too.

Send us the address

Let us know the location and a bit about the work, and you'll hear back fast on whether we can take it on.

Access matters more than distance

How close a concrete truck can get to the pour changes the job and cost far more than kilometres travelled.

Same price either way

Near or far, your quote is a single written figure, with travel and access already factored in.

Where we work: common questions

What people usually ask us about the areas we cover.

Will I pay extra if I live a long way from the city centre?

No. We price the work, not the postcode: how big it is, the finish, how easy it is to reach and what the ground needs. Inner South, deep in Tuggeranong or across the border in Googong, you'll still get one fixed price in writing, and any travel or access cost is already built in.

Why would my suburb need different prep to the next one?

Because what's under the grass really does change. Much of Canberra sits on reactive clay, yet the hillsides of Red Hill and Hackett hit rock early, Gungahlin and Molonglo estates mix cut and filled lots, big old street trees in the inner north and south push up slabs with their roots, and Queanbeyan's river flats are different again. We set the base to suit your block, not a suburb average.

Who handles approvals where I am?

In the ACT there are no local councils — verge crossings between your boundary and the road go through the ACT Government's Transport Canberra and City Services (TCCS) and are built to the ACT standard drawings. Over the border it is council: Googong, Queanbeyan, Bungendore and Sutton are Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council, and Murrumbateman is Yass Valley Council. We confirm which applies when we quote.

What if my suburb isn't on your list?

We'll most likely still come. The list shows where we're busiest, not where we stop, so give us a ring. If your place really is too far for us to look after properly, we'll be upfront about it instead of spreading the crew too thin.

Have you worked on ground like mine before?

There's a fair chance, given 19 years around Canberra, but we never assume. Neighbouring blocks can be completely different underneath — in new estates one lot may be cut and the next filled, and on a hillside rock can surface on one block and vanish on the next. That's why we always check your site before quoting.

Tell us where in Canberra the job is and we will quote it.
